My little long-weekend project. : D I've been feeling awful about my ability to really do animation for fun--the process is still really too much of a trouble to me for me to really enjoy it--plus certain events have led me to believe I really ought to brush up on my movement.
Those little eartails. 8| No wonder they went out of style of bishounen like years ago. They caused me much turmoil in figuring out how to draw them when he turned. Uck, I still get tripped up by such simple things......
I think it's some kind of sin to animate on threes while trying to do exercises out of The Animator's Survival Guide. "You must animate on 1s! 1s, I TELL YOU! It is the way of righteousness....!" I think I really like 3s, though, I like the weight it holds. Only sometimes it's really hard to see what you're doing. . . .
The way I've done up Haruki's hair really makes him look like a girl. D: For the moment I am attached to it because I think it makes him look just a little bit like a fire-type pokemon.
I - I won't lie. In the preview thumbnail he looks a terrible bit like Zero Suit Samus. D:
However here he looks like a clompy ladybug. Adorable! It looks like you've managed to accomplish the clomp-clomp-clomp of pacing without abusing squash-'n'-stretch. Well done!
